ADVERTSING / PRESS RELEASE

Wrekin News (October) ABC.. 31,500

The success of the Modern Soul nights and the diversity of the music played sparked interest from one of the UK’s foremost specialist Soul labels ‘Outta Sight Records’, based in the West Midlands. Inspired by the diversity of the music played by resident DJs – Tim Everett, Kevin Preston and Mick Edwards – Outta Sight has teamed up with the veteran jocks to compile a unique album capturing the spirit of the Modern Soul Collective. “It was a natural partnership – bringing together a record label and the venue, and the album – NO BOUNDARIES – is already causing quite a stir”, said DJ Tim Everett.

The album has also picked up attention in the USA on the leading R&B radio station WBLS New York with the station manager Skip Dillard exclaiming “Wow! Great stuff”.

Legendary Modern Soul DJ Colin Curtis; has written a foreword exclusively for the album and will also by DJ’ing at the CD lunch party in Telford at the Duke Box in Oakengates on the 19th October.

OUTTA SIGHT was originally conceived by long-time soul fan Joe Boy and launched in January 2007. The label's manifesto is to rescue, restore and reissue all genres of Soul music on CD and vinyl 45. Work has already begun on the second collaboration with the Modern Soul Collective – WITHOUT LIMITS – due for release in December.

The MSC can be seen and heard the last Thursday of every month at the Malthouse, The Wharfage, Ironbridge, Telford.  Entrance is free; atmosphere and music are ‘Off The Hook’.
